Flow Analysis in nTop
Welcome to nTop’s Flow Analysis course! Flow Analysis is a subset of nTop Fluids, a new computational fluid dynamics (CFD) toolset integrated directly in nTop.
CFD has traditionally been a specialized discipline requiring dedicated software systems separate from your design environment. Traditional CFD workflows are plagued by bottlenecks that can severely impede design exploration.
By embedding Flow Analysis within nTop, we empower designers to:

Eliminate Meshing Bottlenecks
Meshing complex domains for exporting to CFD solvers demands substantial computational resources, with each iteration requiring intricate mesh regeneration. Instead, perform flow analysis directly on implicit bodies, nTop’s native geometry.
Expedite & Scale Compute
Solve times can stretch from hours to days, creating lengthy waiting periods between design iterations. Additionally, large-scale simulations often face resource limitations, such as insufficient computing power and parallel inefficiencies. These challenges can hinder the performance and scalability of simulations.
nTop’s Flow Analysis uses Lattice-Boltzmann algorithms, well suited for complex geometries and nTop’s ability to leverage modern, GPU-based computing architectures.
