Objectives

The Optimization objective is what property(ies), or Design Response(s), we hope to minimize or maximize within our part. nTop supports several design responses, including Structural Compliance, Volume Fraction, Displacement, and Stress. Use the Optimization Objective block to specify the design response(s).

Just like you would in a Topology Optimization setup, define the response(s) you want to minimize or maximize using the **Optimization Objective** block.

If you leave the optional Weights input blank, all the design responses will be weighted equally in your Optimization Objective. However, it is critical to adjust the weightings for accurate optimizations if combining unlike responses. To customize weighting, input a Scalar List block with the same number of list elements as your Design Response List. Assign weights based on corresponding list elements.
