Before We Begin
Transcript
This is the first of three courses in our heat exchanger learning path that take you through creating a heat exchanger from conceptual design to the final part. In this course, we will explore the key considerations when designing a heat exchanger for printing, understand how to prepare heat exchangers and traditional CAD tools before designing it into nTopology, and learn to create the heat exchanger core using TPMS structures.
The heat exchanger we will build out together is the fuel cooled oil cooler as seen in many of our webinars. Looking at the cross-section, hot oil enters through the top, moves around the dome, enters the hex core, and exits out the bottom. Cold fuel enters the bottom left, moves up through the core, and exits out the bottom right.
In this course, we will:
- Explore the key considerations when designing a heat exchanger for printing
- Understand how to prepare your heat exchanger volumes before designing in nTop
- Learn how to create the heat exchanger core using TPMS structures
